Wonderful

Great location, autethnic atmosphere, an bonfire in the evening, good food . And of course, the sounds of birds and the great view give relaxation.

We haven't been warned about payment for the entrance to the National park. I have not seen this information on the booking.com , although an receptionist told me that we must have missed it. So, calculate aprox + 50$ plus per person for the stay, otherwise you can not enter the park. We spent aprox 1 hour standing near the Park gate, for clarification and for the pay. You can not pay with a credit card, you can not pay cash, only M-pesa (!) We did not like this part at all.

Pleasant hotel with beautiful views

Pleasant facilities, beautiful views

We asked when we should do a morning safari. The hotel recommended 6:30am, which we said was great. Then they said they could only find a safari guide for 8am. We said ok. We arrived at the front desk at 8am the next morning but the guide was not there. They said he would be 20 minutes late. In the end he did not arrive until after 9. This was our only opportunity for a safari in Kenya. There is only 1 reason people come to this hotel, and that is to do safaris. They really need to have better organization for this. If unexpected circumstances arise, the hotel must communicate this to guests.

So relaxing and enjoyable and so close to the game park. Food, wonderful and beautiful property.

The all-inclusive food was incredible and very well prepared. The staff were so wonderful.

Very Good

The location is excellent, right in the middle of the park. In the morning, a baboon visited our balcony and we saw a lion family eating a zebra only 100 meters away from our room. Wonderful! Food was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived really late and Cecilia kindly waited us with dinner ready.

Rooms are quite old and basic for the price of the hotel. There was only one socket to charge the phone, wifi didn’t work in the room, bathroom was old and when you showered, the entire floor was soaking wet. Minor details if you are staying only one night. The location is worth it!

Stunning location, family friendly and really attentive staff.

The food was overall delicious and plenty of options. The evening buffet was particularly fantastic! The staff were extremely attentive and as we stayed on NYE they had a great family and couple friendly plan for the evening. Being in the game reserve is amazing! We saw lots of animals and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.

The rooms are slightly worn and the view we had was of the reception area.

Exceeded our expectations

The breakfast was delicious. It was also helpful to get information via what’s app.

Someone tipped a worker there in US dollars, as in one dollar bills. One dollars bills can’t be exchanged at most Kenyan banks so the worker was stuck with a useless tip. I know tips are personal and private but it would be nice if guests knew that ahead of time and could include the tip in the method of payment for their lodge stay. Perhaps the lodge could then pass that tip onto the employee. I don’t think it is good for the worker to approach a guest to help with exchanging the bills, and that happened to us. We did help with the exchange because we actually live in Kenya, but I don’t think it is a good practice. In our business, we see and hear about some Kenyans who take advantage of naive visitors.

The stay overall was great. Enjoyed the park very much.

Food was okay but a little more variety would be excellent. The location is perfect for Safari.

A little more information would be helpful. For example that the restaurant is inside the park and the only access is via a personal vehicle or tour company. Information on car rental in Nakuru or tour companies would be helpful to people not familiar with the park.

Great place, which apparently is being refurbished a little bit as parts of it are somewhat tired. Didn't bother us as public spaces and rooms were great, with fantastic views of Lake Nakuru and the park, with lots of animals coming to the watering hole right in front of premises. Buffet food was good and personnel were very friendly, always looking at how they could help. It is important to know that the place is inside the National Park and hence park fees have to be paid at the entrance gate for every night stayed and you need to exit in time, not to be charged another day. This can add up and is very expensive for foreigners.

Prior to booking with booking.com, I called the property and was quoted outrageous prices based on the fact that my visitors were not Kenya residents and hence prices were immediately tripled and changed into US Dollars instead of the national tender. I would like to see how Kenyans would react if they were told they had to pay triple in my country when they visit. I usually boycott places (most here, unfortunately) who do this but was able to find prices well below on booking.com, which does not allow discrimination. Hence the booking. I still did not like the initial approach and will remember it. This also affected my overall rating.
